Thalia Field has published four collections with New Directions, including the most recent, Personhood, a companion to Bird Lovers, Backyard. These books, along with Experimental Animals (A Reality Fiction), engage with histories and entangled narratives involving animal beings. Other books include A Prank of Georges and Leave to Remain (Legends of Janus), both written in collaboration with French translator Abigail Lang, and both exploring experiments in translation, theatricality, and literary genre. Before writing books, Thalia worked as a theater artist in New York, Paris, Marseille, and Berlin, publishing a play, « Hey-Stop-That! » in Theater magazine, and writing opera libretti. Thalia is Adele Seaver Kellenberg Professor of Literary Arts at Brown University and is currently the faculty director of the Brown Arts Institute.
An audio version of Personhood produced by Ben Williams is available here.
