Dissertation Topic: “‘Like Monsters of the Deep’: Monsters and Emotions in Shakespeare’s plays”

Current Project

Manon Turban has been studying monsters in Shakespeare’s plays since 2015. Her work on the topic, “O Monstrous! O Strange’: Le monstrueux dans le théâtre de Shakespeare”, received the Master’s thesis prize awarded by the Société Française Shakespeare in 2017. An alumna of the École Normale Supérieure (Lyon), she obtained the “Agrégation” in English in 2015 and now works as a PhD student and teaching assistant at Université de Paris. She conducted research as a Visiting Student Researcher at the Shakespeare Institute (University of Birmingham) in 2019.
